by Michelle Markel has received starred reviews from Booklist, Publisher's Weekly, and School Library Journal. It is a Junior Library Guild selection, a 2012 New York Public Library Best Title for Reading and Sharing, and one of Booklist's Top 10 Art Books for 2012. 

Brave Girl: Clara and the Shirtwaist  Makers' Strike of 1909 by Michelle Markel has received starred reviews
from Booklist, Kirkus and School Library Journal. It's a Junior Library Guild selection,  a Winter '12-'13 Inspired Recommendation for Kids from Indie Booksellers, and an Amazon Best Picture Book of the Month (January).

Janet Wong has been appointed co-chair of the Notable Books for a Global Society (NBGS) Committee, part of the IRA Children's Literature and Reading Special Interest Group. Each year the NBGS Committee selects 25 outstanding   children's/young adult trade books for enhancing understanding of people and   cultures around the world.

Our very own Janet Wong (and Sylvia Vardell) founded
Pomelo  Books and have published a series of poetry
anthologies to make it easy for  teachers to share a poem every week with their class, with connections  to the Common Core or the Texas TEKS (depending on the
version). Joan  Bransfield Graham and April Halprin Wayland both have poems in
each of  the Poetry Friday Anthologies, including the newest, The Poetry Friday Anthology for Middle School.
